For us, good coffee simply isn’t enough. We strive to deliver greatness to every cup, bringing you ethical coffee that tastes amazing and transforms lives. We give 10% of our retail profits back to farmers, and support industry-led schemes to improve the lives of coffee producers and their families, all so you can enjoy an ethical, responsible and delicious brew.
A More Sustainable Coffee Story:
From source to your cup, we do all we can to ensure you enjoy a more ethical brew. We believe in championing the farmers who are making a difference, and want to share this with you. But providing better working conditions and emphasising environmental sustainability isn’t just the right thing to do. It is now essential for the future of the industry.
All over the coffee-producing world, farmers are under increasing pressure due to climate change. Soil erosion, abnormal weather and declines in the number of natural pollinators are posing a risk to many coffee plants. Many mainstream players have been slow to respond, and most growers rely on quick-fixes. Unfortunately, this has seen unsustainable chemical fertiliser use, continued land degradation and the poor treatment of workers. Whereas this approach may achieve coffee exports in the short term, it fails to address the underlying long-term problems.
By working with responsible farmers that have social and environmental commitments – and sharing their stories with you – we hope to increase awareness of this and encourage consumers to make the more ethical choice.
When coffee does good, we believe it tastes even better. That’s why we will continue to strive to achieve a truly responsible brew.
Freshly Roasted, Freshly Packed:
When roasting in the UK, we use one of the most energy efficient roasting systems on the market, meaning less harmful emissions, and more clean air for everyone. All of our delicious coffee is hand-roasted to order, reducing waste and ensuring every bag is as fresh as the last.
Our packaging is aluminium free, 50-60% compostable, and fully recyclable (code7), allowing us to do our bit to reduce our environmental footprint throughout the chain of production.
Coffee Story is all about great coffee at great prices, connecting you with the unique stories behind the brew, and rewarding the farmers each time you make a purchase.

Using his background in international relations, Josh was determined to build a company that valued its global supply chain, offering a fair deal to the producers at a good price for consumers.
The Story behind our Ethiopian Yirgacheffe
Grown by smallholder farmers living around the town of Adado in Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe region, most contributing farmers own less than a hectare of land, and they grow coffee simply as a backyard cash crop.
