Our Brazilian Brilhante started out on the collosal 2300 hectare Rio Brilhante farm in Brazil.
Inacio Urban, the farm’s owner, has a passion for education and this is reflected in the farm’s role in the wider community. Employees and their families are given access to professional qualifications, encouraging them to take on further roles within the business and to develop their careers.
The farm also funds a local school, providing 85 disabled children access to education, as well as supporting open-air libraries for the wider community. Through these projects, Inacio is transforming his community, and Rio Brilhante has developed a reputation for exceptional coffee and unwavering dedication to its workers.
The farm is reliant on a large aquifer running underneath the land for water, and so in order to address the environmental impact of the business, Inacio is reinstating other nearby springs. This project is being completed with the involvement of Brilhante employees as well as the local community, and Inacio is working to ensure the benefits will be shared across the area.
This combination of passion, quality and sustainability is what makes our Brazilian Brilhante taste so great, with smooth chocolate and vibrant citrus notes resulting in a delicious, balanced brew.
And as with all our retail coffee packs, 10% of the profits from this bag will go back to farmers.
